1PNG - Waves: Light & Sound
1st Grade - Physical Science - NGSS
Students explore the relationship between vibrations and sound and design instruments or sound makers. Students explore light in terms of light traveling in a straight path from one place to another and placing different objects in the path of light.
Anchor Phenomenon: We cannot see images in the tree house without light.
Driving Question: What is the best placement of windows to allow light into the tree house?
Engineering Design Challenge: Student engineer teams must design and build a model of a treehouse that uses the sun and available street lights to provide the right amount of lighting for the activities that they want to do in their treehouses.
Ordering Updates We have streamlined our ordering process. Our individual catalogs and order forms have been replaced by a single Interactive Order Form. This Excel spreadsheet contains our complete product catalog and includes dedicated tabs for Trade Books, Spanish Journals, Quick Orders, and individual unit orders, with each tab automatically calculating order totals as you enter quantities. To place an order, download the form, fill in your desired quantities in the appropriate tab, and email the completed file to suzan@bcamsc.org. If you do not have Microsoft Excel, the form can also be opened using Google Sheets.
